720日,海洋地质学领域的主流国际刊物“Marine Geology”发来邀请函,信中说:近年来本刊声誉提高较快,稿件处理任务大幅度增加,因此,将在已聘任三位主编(各自负责海洋地球物理、地球化学和沉积地质学)的基础上,增聘第四位主编;在讨论这一岗位候选人过程中,三位在任主编一致高度评价您的工作,认为您将合适于这个岗位,特此致函邀请。目前,我已经回复接受邀请。按照日程安排,将在201811日起担任这一职务。

Marine Geology”创刊于1964年,当年关于海底扩张、板块构造、浊流等的研究大量发表于本刊,第一届编委也都是这些领域的学术带头人。我本人发表的第一篇论文是关于Grain size trends的观测结果,是在1994年。从2004年起,我担任了该刊编委。除编辑部审稿工作外,我所在的研究组在本刊发表了多篇学术论文,涉及潮汐环境(潮滩、潮流脊、潮汐汊道、海岸盐沼湿地)的沉积和地貌动力过程、陆架泥质沉积和河口湾沉积体系演化、人类活动对海岸沉积地貌的影响等内容。2014年,在“Marine Geology”创刊50周年之际,我与我的导师、英国南安普顿大学Michael Collins教授合作,发表了题为“Holocene sedimentary systems on continental shelves”的长篇综述论文,提出海洋沉积动力学的研究方向要从输运堆积过程、过程-产物关系,拓展到沉积记录形成和信息提取,从现代过程视角发展沉积地质学新方法。

Marine Geology”发表的论文具有较多的读者。我们发表的论文(见附录)Google Scholar搜索的引用已超过900次。
